It works with an app that is downloaded onto your phone. When in Bluetooth range (10m), you can activate a beeping sound on the tracking device to locate it.
If the device is out of range (for example you have left your wallet, with a tracking device fitted) at the shops, you can open the app and see on a google maps type map where the tracking device was last connected to your phone.
